Family and personal photographs of M. W. Torkelson, a civil engineer employed by various agencies of the State of Wisconsin. Included in PH 3521 are portraits, ca. 1890-1910, of family members, friends, and associates from the Black River Falls and Madison, Wisconsin areas. In PH 3520 are more informal photographs from Torkelson's years as a student at the University of Wisconsin, 1901-1903. Included are images of groups of engineering students, excursions to the Wisconsin Dells, the engineers' football team, and Torkelson's residences and housemates. Included in each group of photographs is a single image of Richard W. Remp, center on the U.W. football team in 1901 and 1902.
